Birth Reflections

"Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person they are almost indistinguishable"
                                                           -David Augsburger

What Does It Mean?

Sometimes all we need is to talk, feel heard and be seen. Birth Reflections session, also referred to as Listening Service, is there to help you process your birth experience, make sense of it all, explore your emotions, normalise your feelings or ask questions in a safe, non-judgemental space. And YES good news is, that it can be done even years following birth.

In today's dominant cultural narrative in regards to birth and motherhood, with many times smaller chances of having support from "the village", to be given opportunity to offload, normalise and clarify events that are received with empathy, warmth and validation, can have a deep and meaningful impact on how we find ourselves in that sensitive postpartum period.

Although it is still a vital first step towards healing it's important to note; Birth Reflections is not a deep therapeutic work aimed to treat deeper emotional distress or trauma. Further support with the right provider is addressed, if needed. Birth Reflections is short term, often a single session, unless more is requested.

"Reflective services provide a safe space

to untangle the emotions of a difficult

experience. Through reflection, we don’t

erase the past—we give it meaning,

allowing healing to take root."

If this is the support you are after

or you know someone who can also benefit from it please get in touch.
